EBA
provides natural science (biology, ecology, earth
science and related environmental sciences) and regulatory
permitting services to a range of clients in the private
and public sectors, including mining, energy, forestry,
transportation, land development, and all levels of
government.
EBA’s natural science and regulatory permitting
teams work closely with the project proponent, regulators,
First Nations, stakeholders, and other project teams,
including our transportation and engineering professionals,
to deliver integrated and cost-effective project solutions.
We have extensive scientific and regulatory expertise
in the mining, energy, transportation, and development
sectors with proven practical and balanced approaches
to stewardship and sustainable development.
Regulatory &
Permitting Services
Our comprehensive knowledge of federal, provincial,
and municipal environmental legislation and guidelines
enables us to provide accurate and timely advice to
our clients and to successfully obtain permits, licenses,
and approvals using:
- Environmental impact assessment
- Cumulative effects assessment
- Ecological risk assessment
- Mitigation and compensation planning
- Environmental management and protection planning
- Reclamation and closure designs
- First Nations and public consultation
Biological &
Ecological Inventories
Biological and ecological inventories are often a
necessary component of the regulatory process. Whether
it is for terrestrial, aquatic, wetland, marine, or
atmospheric environments, our scientists specialize
in the development and implementation of biological
and ecological inventories and baseline data collection.
These capabilities are supported by our dive team
and Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote
sensing team.
Our dive team complements the range of marine and
aquatic services we provide including bio-inventory,
sediment sampling, structural inspections, underwater
mapping, and videography.
Spatial data modelling, analysis, and mapping is conducted
by EBA's GIS and remote sensing team. The team incorporates
a variety of biological, ecological, and engineering
data into innovative products and services, including
interactive web-based applications that can be accessed
by different users from anywhere in the world.
