Surface Fugitive Gas Emission Detection Using GasFinder Digital Laser Technology

Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from landfills are a growing concern. Landfills have the potential to generate significant quantities of gases, including methane. This gas requires monitoring, and can be used to generate power. To optimise monitoring and/or extraction, it is necessary to identify gas source areas and pathways. Otherwise, monitoring results may not be representative of the entire site, leading to erroneous estimates of the site’s liability, and potential loss of gas to the atmosphere.

EBA is working with Entevys Ltd. (experienced operator) and Boreal Laser Inc. (sole manufacturer) to provide surface fugitive gas mapping using the latest in highly portable digital laser instrumentation.  This is coupled with our established, wide range of complementary services including geophysical surveying, LiDAR mapping, and a full range of environmental and landfill siting, design and construction management services, to provide a single source of integrated, multi-disciplinary environmental engineering consultancy.
